One quarter of all divorces in the U.S. now involve people over fifty. Divorces in our demographic have doubled in the past twenty years.
All over the country, people in their fifties are looking up and saying: “I’ve raised my kids, and successfully launched them in life. My health is great – I could have another three decades or more to go. But my marriage is not fulfilling, and I’m not finding the happiness I deserve. My spouse may have been a wonderful co-parent, but I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with him or her.”
Which is creating the phenomenon of “Gray Divorce.”
DivorcedOver50.com serves this large, and growing, demographic by providing content that addresses the needs and interests of our group. We produce original material and aggregate articles and blog posts that speak to our concerns, covering topics like Dating, Romance, and Sex; Health and Fitness; Financial and Legal; and Family & Friends. We solicit comments on every post, and invite our users to share their opinions and experiences with the community.
Our goal is to offer information, insight, and inspiration to our Community, as members move through the stages of a Divorce Over 50:
Survive… Revive… and then THRIVE!
There will be ups, and there will be downs. Things that are good, and things that are bad. And DivorcedOver50.com is there to help users better embrace the positives, while mitigating the effects of the negatives.
The site also exists to help those who are still married, but considering divorce. For these Divorce Curious folks, or the “Di-Curious,” the site can help them better understand what they’d experience both during and after a divorce, allowing them to make a more informed decision about whether it’s the right choice.
In an ideal world, we marry someone we love, raise children together, and remain happy and compatible until we die. But very often, life just doesn’t work out that way. I went into my marriage with that plan, as I’m sure most of you did, too.
Divorce isn’t something to be taken lightly, and it’s never easy. But it can provide an opportunity to start over, hit the reset button, and move forward into a happy, fulfilling, and exciting life.
This site is dedicated to helping you find that better future.
