Dating in Real Life (as Opposed to On-line)

The last time many Over 50’s dated, on-line wasn’t an option — we had to do it the old fashioned way. And maybe going that way again isn’t such a bad idea.

In this article from Huffington Post, writer Rebecca Adams asks eight matchmakers for tips on meeting people that don’t involve silicon chips.  Their advice is simple and easy to follow; some samples include:

  • Attend events and activities outside your existing circle of friends, and when you’re there be open, smile, and make eye contact.
  • Make time for hobbies and interests that will get you out and around people who are similar to you.
  • Get your head out of your phone.  Look up and see who’s around.  And smile.
  • Be open to set-ups.  The friends playing matchmaker actually know you, and the other person, so maybe you’ve got a better shot than with some nebulous person on a dating site.

Even if you are on-line, being open to real life dating just increases your chances of meeting someone special. Take a look.
