If you’re currently unattached, and you happen to see a happy, loving couple walk by, do you suffer from relationship envy? And then do you try to fight off the feeling? Maybe you should just accept it.
That’s the premise of this piece from the Moving Past Divorce site, run by the mother-daughter team of Terry Gaspard and Tracy Clifford. In her post, Tracy argues that everyone feels envy at various times, but it’s more productive to accept the emotion, knowing that it’s transitory and will fade away. Rather, she says, the feeling to hold onto is hope — that’s the emotion that has to be permanent, because without it we’ve really got nothing.
